While we caught up with the Jurassic World: The World After team to talk about the film, we were able to ask the actors and director a few questions about their relationship to the world of video games. Who doesn’t know what a PlayStation 4 is? Who has played all the Jurassic Park games, including the famous Trespasser? Who has ever lent their voice to a character for a game? The answers below.

This article is a transcript of several interviews conducted on Friday, May 27, 2022. We were able to chat with the Jurassic World Dominion team via video conference. Other articles dealing with other topics will be coming soon, discussed with the film crew.
What is a PS4?
When we get the chance to meet Hollywood stars, we always ask them if they play video games. The cast of Jurassic World Dominion gives it a try.
JV: Jeff Goldblum, you said in 2019 that you had never played a video game in your life, even the ones you participated in. But since then there has been a blockage. Did you take the opportunity to start?
mamudou athie : (to Jeff Goldblum) I’m about to give you a PS4. The PS5 is impossible to find.
Jeff Goldblum : I want to hear about it. I don’t know what a PS4 is, I don’t know what a PS5 is. You know, I did an episode about this on The World According to Jeff Goldblum and admitted to the audience that I may have played some levels of Miss Pac-Man or Pong. But since then I have never played a video game and I know I did voices in Jurassic World Revolution. Nah, Evolution.
mamudou athie : (to Jeff Goldblum) Do your kids play video games?
Jeff Goldblum : No, we try to get our kids away from screens to talk to people and be in nature, because I’ve seen kids get lost in things. It’s sad. I was chatting with Colin Trevorrow, who is a wonderful father…
mamudou athie : He’s a genius.
Jeff Goldblum : He’s a genius and he said “oh no, there are video games that are good, I limit their playing time but there are very good ones, I like some of them”.
mamudou athie : Colin is a player!
Jeff Goldblum : Totally! Yes, then you already know all that. (To Mamoudou Athie) Now tell me, do you like video games?
mamudou athie : I’ll make you play a little, I have some to advise you.
Jeff Goldblum : OKAY !
mamudou athie : But on PS4, I don’t have a PS5.
JV: Jurassic Park is a franchise that we could find in many video games. Have you played video games adapted from the license?
Colin Trevorrow : I played the original Nintendo game and played Trespasser. The intruder is great! And then of course our games. You know, we have Evolution and Evolution 2 that just came out, they’re really complex and beautiful games. Everyone at Frontier has done an amazing job, it’s great to have that level of achievement when it comes to handling dinosaurs.
Elizabeth Sermon : I haven’t played Jurassic Park games, but I’m not very good at video games. If it was, I would definitely play one of the Jurassic Park games.

JV: Bryce Dallas Howard, you did the voice for the character of Claire in the video game Jurassic World Evolution 2. Is it different from playing a character in the movies?
bryce dallas howard : The team that made these games, I’ve loved meeting them over the years and we had a lot of fun making these recordings. We often do multiple sessions. Usually with video games, the interesting thing is that I’m playing a version of the old Claire, there’s the park Claire and there’s the “fixed” Claire, and a lot of times in games I record voices that change from one personality to another. I’d say that’s probably the only difference from the games. (to Dewanda) You didn’t play any of the games?
wise dewanda : I’m still stuck on Legos!
bryce dallas howard : Wait until you get to video games!
JV: Dewanda Wise, would you like your character to be the heroine of a video game?
wise dewanda : That would be great. I mean, a lot of who she is is just a bunch of adventures. In my imagination, she lives on this plane, she has been to many places, she can go wherever she wants whenever she wants. It’s common for a video game!
Dinosaur crisis?
JV: There is a scene at the end of the movie where a gigantic dinosaur smashes through a control room window and threatens to devour everyone by sticking its mouth inside. This scene is reminiscent of a video game called Dino Crisis. Was the Capcom game a source of inspiration?
Colin Trevorrow : Oh yeah, I read that somewhere too. I know about Dino Crisis but I don’t remember that moment. For me, it was inspired by the high hideout in Lost World, remember, they went up really high and the dinosaur couldn’t reach them, so we thought BioSyn would have those kind of high huts that they could go up and down for their research. We designed this and we thought this thing was bigger than you imagined and you could put your head in there.
