Faster load times, more responsive gaming, uninterrupted gaming experience

As a world leader in advanced memory technologies, Samsung is launching a high-performance PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD with the 990 PRO. The new SSD is blazing fast, energy efficient and optimized for games that require high graphics performance and other intensive operations such as 3D rendering, 4K video editing and data analysis.

“Consumers’ high-performance storage needs are growing exponentially due to constant innovations in gaming, 4K and 8K technology, and AI-powered applications,” says Roderick Niehorster, Memory Business Marketing Manager at Samsung Benelux. “The 990 PRO offers an optimal balance between speed, energy efficiency and reliability. This makes it the ideal choice for gamers and creative professionals who want to continue working or playing without interruption. »

Extreme performance for an immersive gaming experience
Thanks to Samsung’s latest V-NAND technology and a new controller designed in-house, the 990 PRO series offers the highest speed currently available via the PCIe 4.0 interface.[1]with sequential read and write speeds reaching 7,450 and 6,900 megabytes per second (MB/s), respectively, and random read and write speeds reaching 1,400K and 1,550K IOPS, respectively[2]. Random performance is up to 55% better than the 980 PRO, making the 990 PRO the perfect solution for intensive gaming and creative tasks.

These high-performance NVMe SSDs let you take full advantage of the latest gaming consoles and technologies, with faster load times and smoother gameplay. When tested with Forspoken[3]the upcoming action RPG from Luminous Productions, environment load time was around one second, compared to four seconds for a SATA SSD and 28 seconds for a hard disk drive (HDD).

Maximum energy efficiency and reliable thermal control
Samsung’s new controller is designed to save energy. SSD is up to 50% more energy efficient than 980 PRO[4]. Additionally, the 990 PRO uses a nickel plating on the controller and a heat dissipation label on the unit for reliable heat management. Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard technology keeps the drive at its optimum temperature.

The 990 PRO version with heat sink offers not only an extra layer of thermal control, but also stylish RGB lighting.

Want to upgrade your current laptop or desktop, or even build your own PC? The very fast 990 PRO not only offers a significant increase in performance, but also reduced power consumption and more efficient heat dissipation.

The SSD 990 PRO will be available in early October 2022 at a suggested retail price of €189.99 for the 1TB model and €359.99 for the 2TB version. The 4TB version will be available starting next.
