did you know With Love and Relentlessness is an adaptation of Christine Angot’s novel A Turning Point in Life. This is the second time, after A Beautiful Interior Sun in 2017, that Claire Denis has collaborated with the novelist to write a screenplay. The manager explains:
“Working with Christine was a little different this time. It was not about writing ex nihilo but about adapting one of her novels, A Turning Point in Life. Also, and that’s nothing, this project took shape at the beginning of the pandemic.”

But the new management of Warner finally decided to cancel the film at the beginning of August 2022… An announcement that unleashed a real thunder in Hollywood when the blockbuster of 70 million dollars was already shot and in post-production.

“I immediately liked his restlessness, his search… and the alternation of poetry and humor that the comic strip carried”confesses the director who signs her second feature film for the occasion after the tv movie Moi, grosse (2019), a comedy that deals with obesity.
